Best Badminton Courts Near PDPU Gandhinagar

Where PDPU students play badminton in Gandhinagar — wooden floors, BWF-grade nets, online booking.

PDPU's on-campus courts are good — but they're also constantly booked by the badminton club and inter-batch leagues. If you want to play after 6 PM on any weekday, you're likely better off booking a court off-campus. Gandhinagar has a surprisingly good selection within 10 minutes of the Raisan campus.

What to look for in a badminton court

Floor type is the single biggest variable. Wooden floors absorb impact better, feel premium, and are required for any serious tournament. Synthetic-mat courts are cheaper to rent and fine for casual doubles. BWF-spec courts use vinyl or PU surfaces that combine grip and bounce.

  • Wooden floors — best for knees, best feel, ₹500-800/hour
  • Synthetic mats — fine for casual play, ₹250-500/hour
  • Vinyl/PU (BWF spec) — tournament grade, ₹600-900/hour
  • Lighting at 500+ lux minimum, 1000+ for serious play
  • Shuttle and racket rental at most venues for ₹50-150

Areas near PDPU with quality courts

Sector 21 has the densest cluster of premium courts — 10-minute drive from campus. Sector 28 toward Adalaj is the value option. The Infocity corridor near GIFT City has newer AC indoor venues if heat is an issue during summer.

Booking a recurring weekly slot

Most serious badminton players in Gandhinagar lock in a weekly slot with the same partners. FirstBookit lets you book multi-hour blocks at once, useful if you're rotating across two courts for doubles.
